recovering
If the stuffing and frame are in good nick then all you need is a recover. This involves removing and replacing the fabric.
reupholstery
This is different for every project. It might be that you need the odd spring replacing, a new seat building or some saggy webbing addressing. It could be that all of the existing upholstery needs to be stripped off and rebuilt from the frame up. I am trained in both modern and traditional techniques so can tackle any style of furniture, from antique, to vintage, to high street.
Traditional upholstery uses natural stuffings like horsehair and coir (made from coconut husks) with specialist stitching to create the shape of the chair, whereas modern techniques use foam. I am trained in both styles of reupholstery but am committed to using more sustainable alternatives to polyurethane foam, such as foams made from recycled plastic bottles, latex and rubberised coir, and am constantly reviewing developments in this field.
soft furnishings
A window seat for your kitchen, bench cushions for your outdoor furniture or pillows for your bed. It’s the little touches that make a home feel finished. These can all be made bespoke to just the right size.
