Studio Bernhardt is run by me, Anastasia Bernhardt, an upholsterer based in East London. I started my career editing interiors magazines before starting my upholstery journey in 2021. Having spent my career admiring furniture created by other people and interviewing craftspeople across the industry I decided to take the plunge and join them. I have since completed a three-year diploma with The Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers in both modern and traditional upholstery.

My studio is based on Leyton High Road, opposite Leyton Midland Road station. Clients are very welcome to visit the workshop (just let me know in advance so I can make sure I’m around). I am design mad and love giving old furniture a new lease of life to keep it out of landfill.
